Portrait of a Tree

Funny how we ask people if we can take their photo, but not trees. They are living and breathing things. I know this as I was corrected once by a biology teacher on the matter 🙂 Question is, if I asked it, what would it say and would I understand the answer ?

This huge tree is about 10 minutes away at a local park in the Kennesaw, GA area and I had a – stop and take this photo – moment while walking by on a hike one afternoon. I was thinking “The Party Tree” in “The Hobbit.”
