The dance between light and shadow.

Sometimes my images are very busy, other times I try to reduce an image to what I think is its essence. Variety is healthy right ? Anyhow, here are some examples of the later. This is the front of Madlife Stage & Studios in Woodstock, GA. I’ve been here a couple of times to experience undiscovered artists and battle of the bands challenges. The acoustics have been very good !

I don’t go out of my way to peruse a rock and roll lifestyle by photographing bands all over the place, however, speaking of which, here’s my friend Carl’s band Sweet Soul Sister on stage in one of those contests ! It reminded me of being in a jazz club.

Another excellent band from the challenges I saw is The Georgia Thunderbolts.

Photographing bands in low light can be quite challenging. I use natural light, mostly manual mode and manual focus, hoping something turns out usable and in focus. I was using my Sony A7 with 28-70 kit lens for these.
